Indore: 8 more dengue patients identified, 93 cases so far
Indore: Eight more dengue patients were identified in the city in last two days. With fresh cases, the number of dengue patients identified in Indore has reached 93 this year. Meanwhile, the health department has also sent samples of H1N1 for tests in Jabalpur and reports are awaited.
Dengue patients include six men and two women who are between 17 to 61 years of age. They are from Depalpur, Anand Bazaar, Sahyog Nagar, Ambikapuri, Dwarkapuri, Ajay Bagh and Yadav Nagar. Integrated Diseases Surveillance Programme nodal officer Dr Asha Pandit said all patients are recovering while two of them have been discharged from hospitals.
“We received report of samples late. By the time the diagnosis was reported, many patients recovered as their treatment was started on basis of symptoms and they left hospitals healthy,” she said. Dr Pandit said department has sent 155 samples of H1N1 and over 200 pathological samples of dengue for testing.
District malaria officer Dr Dharmendra Jain said department is conducting survey in areas where patients tested positive. “We have launched anti-larva survey and found larva in more than 100 places in the city. Apart from imposing fine, we are spreading awareness among people,” he said.
