CM Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in a cleanliness drive under Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan on Sunday during which he dusted some parts of the Tapkeshwar Temple and the banks of Tons river. The drive was conducted for over an hour. He appealed to the people to take the pledge of giving two hours every week to maintain cleanliness. He also asked them not to dump garbage on the roads. “We are happy with the rural Uttarakhand being declared open defecation free (ODF) on June 22.

The urban areas would be declared ODF any day by March 31, 2018,” CM said. Before leading the drive, he paid obeisance to Lord Shiva at Tapkeshwar Temple and sought the Lord’s blessing for the state and its people. While talking to the media persons, he said that aside from Bijli Sadak Pani (BSP), his government would consider health and education as priority areas.
